Our customers helped to support the Asher House from October 2022 through March 2023.Here's a little background on this unique and amazing organization.
The Asher House rescues and rehabilitates animals that have been abused, abandoned or discarded and provide them with a safe home. Many of the animals have been abandoned on properties or have been in shelters for months. Although they sometimes foster dogs for other organizations, most of the animals at the animals at the sanctuary have found their permanent home there. Looking ahead into 2023, their vision includes taking in more fosters while they await their forever family.
Meet Millie
When Millie was first rescued and brought to a vet, she was loaded with fleas, emaciated, and too weak to even stand. Now she's in a loving, enriching home and on the road to recovery and a great life! You can see the video of her homecoming here. Milie is one of the Asher House's most recent success stories.
The Asher House receives thousands of emails each month asking to help animals in need. As with other sanctuaries, they cannot help each one, but they do their best to provide resources, or to make connections with other rescues across the country who have been able to assist and find homes.
The Asher House has impacted many lives through their rescue networks, their national spay and neuter programs, and community involvement via library partnerships, school assemblies, and houseless outreach.
Of course, they give each member of our animal family a safe haven and lots of love. But they also provide them with a healthy dose of adventure. Dogs need enrichment and activity in order to thrive which they receive at the Asher House. As they say at the sanctuary, when our dogs are happy, we are happy.
A Little Background
The Asher House is a registered non-profit sanctuary in Estacada, Oregon. They rescue animals that have been discarded or unwanted, providing them with a life of comfort, love and adventure.
For over two years, their Founder, Lee Asher, traveled across 49 states to promote dog adoption and spotlight various shelters and rescues. After his Pitbull Stella passed away, Lee was determined to fulfill his lifelong dream of creating a sanctuary, where animals could feel treasured, protected and free. In late 2020, Lee discovered a large parcel of property which was the perfect setting to turn his vision into a reality.
